This is what you should keep in mind when measuring your blood pressure.
It is best to sit comfortably when measuring. Relax for 5 minutes and then measure. Do not move during the measurement.
Measure the blood pressure first on both arms and then always on the arm with the higher blood pressure.
Do not speak during the measurement.
Avoid nicotine and coffee for an hour before the measurement.
Allow at least two minutes to pass between two measurements.
How to put the cuff on correctly.

- The marking on the cuff should be on the artery of the upper arm.
- Tighten the cuff so that one or two fingers fit between the arm and the cuff.
- Place the cuff on your bare wrist.
- The cuff should fit tightly.
- Make sure the cuff circumference is correct on both your upper arm and your wrist, otherwise incorrect measurements may occur!
Important: The cuff must be at heart level

- When sitting at a table with your forearm resting on the table, the cuff is automatically at heart level.
- Hold your arm relaxed against your body. In this position, the wrist with the measuring device is at heart level.
- If the cuff is above heart level, the readings will be too low. If the cuff is below heart level, the readings will be too high.
Your blood pressure is subject to ongoing fluctuations
Fluctuating blood pressure values, even when measured directly one after the other, say nothing about the accuracy of the device. Blood pressure is not a constant value and is never exactly the same over several minutes. For this reason, it is important to measure regularly and always at the same time of day. A single measurement only shows a snapshot and is only of limited use. Many devices have an average value display that shows the average value of many individual measurements and enables a more meaningful assessment of your blood pressure.
